The first step is to understand how your mind actually works.

You may have heard about the difference between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind before, but how exactly does it play out when it comes to reaching your goals?

Think about it this way…

Your conscious mind is the goal setter while your subconscious mind is the goal getter.

And your subconscious holds all of the strategies, values and beliefs that will drive you towards your goal. The only problem is… if your subconscious mind is programmed with the wrong strategies and beliefs, it can also keep you from ever reaching your goals.

Think of your goal as a destination you are trying to get to 📌

If your mind was a vehicle, let’s say a car:

Your conscious mind would be the body of the car and the user interface (like where you can input your destination on your GPS).

And your subconscious mind would be the engine, the wheels and the version of the GPS with the maps in it. If you optimise all of this, get the autopilot upgrade and update your GPS with the latest version of the maps, traffic information and radar warnings you will get to your destination faster and with less effort, right?

This is essentially what happens when you work on your subconscious mind, fix your limiting beliefs and upgrade your inner strategies.

But how exactly do you upgrade to the Porsche version of your mind?

To do this, you have to reprogram your subconscious. You can work with a mindset coach or NLP practitioner or simply start to change your habits and the information you consume (on the media but also in your personal circle).

Start putting boundaries regarding who you decide to take advice from, surround yourself with positive people who inspire and uplift you.
Your subconscious mind learns through repetition so stick with it for a while, and before you know it, your mind will be wired with brand new strategies and beliefs that actually move you closer to your goals!
